The young mezzosoprano Elisabeth Stützer was born in Oberndorf/Salzburg, close to the

German/Bavarian border and is a German and Austrian citizen.

 

From an early age on she studied piano at the UNIVERSITY MOZARTEUM SALZBURG with Austrian pianist Anton Cziczek. As a singer she started out as a back-up singer for Bobby McFerrin and the Dave Brubeck Band at the Salzburg Jazz Festival (SALZBURGER JAZZHERBST), which led to performances in Verona, Vienna and Prague.

 

In 2010 she began studying with the German singer Ute Trekel - Burckhardt at the UNIVERSITY OF ARTS in BERLIN. In Berlin she recently sang the role of Endimione in Francesco Cavallis "La Calisto" at the UniT Theater and Johann Sebastian Bachs Johannespassion with the PROMETHEUS ENSEMBLE BERLIN, conducted by Frank Markowitsch. 2014 she was an artist at the CLASSIC OPEN AIR FESTIVAL BERLIN.

 

Elisabeth Stützer is a passionate interpreter of song- recitals, specialising in the German

Lied - genre. She took part in masterclasses of known artists such as Eric Schneider, Axl Bauni, Konrad Jarnot, Chistiane Oelze and Grace Bumbry. 2012 she made her debut with a song - recital in Salzburg for the STIFTUNG MOZARTEUM SALZBURG an the EROPEAN SOCIETY CLUB.  She is a student-fellow of the Mady Keller-Buddenberg foundation since 2013, when she was  invited to take part at the EUROPEAN LIEDFORUM in Vilna / Lithuania. Her duo-partner is sought after Lied-pianist of the new generation, Jonathan Ware.

In 2015 and 2016, Elisabeth Stützer will sing song-recitals and concerts in Berlin, Leipzig, Vienna and Gmunden (AT).
