Elisabeth Stützer comes from the Upper Bavarian border region with Salzburg and is a German and Austrian citizen.
After studying piano and singing at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the Berlin University of the Arts, she was coached by chamber singers Johan Botha and Grace Bumbry. She received further artistic inspiration from her work with the lied pianists Gerold Huber, Eric Schneider and the lied singer Prof. Wolfgang Holzmair.
Initially , the deep mezzo-soprano specialized in song, oratorio and concert as well as in special projects in crossover and performances of modern works:
She has performed with the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker, the Deutsches Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Staatskapelle Meiningen, the Philharmonie Kiev, the Camerata Salzburg, the Symphonic Chamber Orchestra Berlin, the Rhenish Chamber Orchestra Moers, the Prometheus Ensemble Berlin, the Munich Ensemble Blauer Reiter and many others.
Elisabeth Stützer was an artist at the Classic Open Air Berlin and performed with Bobby Mc Ferrin and the Dave Brubeck Band at the Salzburg Jazz Festival.
In 2023/24 she sang the world premiere of the songs for alto and orchestra based on Paul Clan's poem cycle "Sprachgitter" by Thorsten Putscher with the Berlin Symphony Chamber Orchestra under the personal direction of the composer, as well as Wolfgang Rihm's work "Deus Passus" in the Berlin Philharmonie.
The singer regularly works with the conductors Frank Markowitsch, Armando Merino, Thorsten Putscher - Hansen, Alexander Walker, Sergey Neller, Chin-Chao Lin and Michael Preiser.
She sang song recitals for the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg, at the European Song Forum in Vilnius, at the Salzart Festival, the "Zwischen Inn und Salzach" festival, at the Gmunden Festival Weeks, at festivals in Kharkiv, Beijing, Shanghai and Meran. Solo engagements and concert tours have taken her through China, the USA, England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia and Ukraine.
In 2025/26 she will be engaged at the Mosel Music Festival, where she will once again premiere orchestral songs by the composer Thorsten Putscher. In the chamber music series of the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, the artist will be giving a special recital with piano, oboe and viola.
The mezzo-soprano is currently preparing to enter the Wagner repertoire in the 2026/27 season under the supervision of her teacher Uwe Götz from the Rabine Institute in Wachenheim.
